Coopers Valley was another book cover Daniel Cross asked me to create for him. This cover is meant to show, “fragments,” in a very cubist way. The fragments of what might or might not be real. For this cover, in oil, I painted a canvas. I then photographed the canvas and created a gradient to start on the spine and extend around the back of the book. The book editors made the decision to use the gradient on the front of the book as well.
